Guide Your Students to the Right Next Step in Their Care

After an appointment, students often wonder what to do next. TimelyCare helps your campus guide students forward by clarifying care plans, coordinating follow-up, and connecting them to off-campus referrals or other next steps when needed.

Support Students Beyond the First Visit

Getting students into care is only one part of the journey. Care Navigation helps students understand what comes next, from following a care plan to scheduling follow-up and connecting to referrals or other support when needed. That means your campus can offer more than a handoff. You can offer a clearer path forward.

  • One in four students says they don’t feel confident navigating the healthcare system on their own.¹
  • Among students who said they needed mental health services, 14% got fewer services because they were not sure where to go.²

When students miss the next step after care, progress can stall.

I work with a lot of students on campus who have used TimelyCare. We get the information out to students as part of our regular, like, freshman orientation all the way up to the last day of you being a senior and graduating. Our students enjoy the TimelyCare option. We use it in the housing situations for residential life, and so it’s good to say, okay, if you don’t want to go to the hospital for an assessment, you feel like that’s overwhelming and it’s adding more stress, we can sit here and make this phone call together. So I think TimelyCare has been a wonderful thing for our students. It’s been wonderful for the staff. So I think it’s a very useful tool, and it’s very much giving the support we need across all the areas of our campus.

Duke University’s Student Support Coordinator Danita Horton shares how TimelyCare helps students connect to the right support at the right moment

How Does Care Navigation Help Students?

Care Navigation helps students move from an initial visit to the right next step. That can include understanding provider instructions, scheduling follow-up, connecting to campus or community resources, and staying on track when additional support is needed. For campuses, that means fewer students are left to figure out referrals, follow-up, or insurance-related next steps on their own.
