(FORT WORTH, Texas) — TimelyCare, higher education’s most trusted virtual health and well-being provider, has joined the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) while expanding virtual care options available to faculty and staff.
In response to pressing mental health and wellness concerns highlighted by recent surveys, TimelyCare and CUPA-HR both work to prioritize the mental and physical health of faculty and staff and address the growing challenges faced by educators and campus employees.
A CUPA-HR Higher Education Employee Retention survey underscored the need for improved support mechanisms, with over one-third of higher education employees expressing intentions to seek new opportunities within the next year. Dissatisfaction with benefits, particularly those aimed at fostering work-life balance, was also prominently noted. The survey found job satisfaction as the strongest predictor of retention.
Simultaneously, a recent TimelyCare survey revealed that 6 out of 10 faculty and staff members are struggling with mental health issues such as stress, anxiety, or depression. Additionally, more than half of respondents admitted contemplating leaving their positions due to burnout, heightened workloads, and overwhelming stress.
Bob Booth, M.D., Chief Care Officer of TimelyCare, emphasized the pivotal role of employee well-being in sustaining the foundation of higher education, saying, “For students to thrive and succeed, we need to support educators and campus employees at the core level. Fostering their well-being is building the backbone for higher education, and we are proud to share with CUPA-HR members our work in these critical efforts.”
“We are pleased to welcome TimelyCare into the CUPA-HR community, a network of more than 33,000 human resources professionals,” said Andy Brantley, Ed.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of CUPA-HR. “We look forward to seeing the organization’s well-being initiatives highlighted at CUPA-HR events so our higher ed human resources members can make them available to faculty and staff across their institutions.”
TimelyCare aims to address the multifaceted well-being needs of educators and campus employees, thereby fostering healthier and more resilient academic communities.
