The TimelyCare Story
The founders of TimelyCare – Luke Hejl, Chris Clark and Alan Dennington, M.D. – attended Abilene Christian University together. Years later, a dinner conversation among longtime friends sparked a bright idea and year’s worth of market research that ultimately led to pioneering the first virtual care company to exclusively serve higher education. The idea of directly connecting students to healthcare professionals virtually was born after speaking with students and parents about the current physical and mental health needs of college students. They established TimelyCare (then TimelyMD) in 2017.
In 2018, ACU became the first university to adopt TimelyCare services. Today, TimelyCare serves millions of students – as well as faculty and staff – at hundreds of colleges and universities across the country. While the company has scaled, services have evolved, and impact has grown, their founding vision to help students be well and thrive in all aspects of their lives has not changed.
