Join the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) at the 2023 Annual Meeting to consider the many ways our present challenges are calling Catholic institutions to adjust and even transform. They will discuss urgent matters and innovative strategies to achieve their mission to assist students on their journeys to become educated, skilled, faith-filled and determined actors for the world.

Presentation Details:

We invite you to attend the session “All Hands on Deck: A Team-Based Approach to Student Mental Health” with Dr. Tony Spann, Executive Director of Mental Health and Kristen Buglione, Health Literacy, Health Coaching, and Provider Training Lead.

This session will be held in room, Statler A, at 3:15 p.m. EST on Sunday, February 5. The importance of a comprehensive, team-based approach to care for student mental health and real examples of the roles of on and off-campus players will be discussed along with valuable insights and practical strategies for addressing the unique mental health needs of students on your campus. Dr. Tony Spann

Executive Director of Mental Health

Dr. Tony Spann is a renowned counselor, educator and thought-leader whose passion is to shift the culture of mental health and wellness by promoting inclusivity for all people. As Executive Director of Mental Health at TimelyMD, he oversees a national network of licensed providers trusted to provide virtual therapeutic counseling, in-the-moment behavioral health support, health coaching and crisis intervention services to college and university students.

The founding member and former Chief Clinical Officer of Hurdle, a digital health platform for people of color, Dr. Spann brings extensive experience in creating equity within mental health and reducing barriers to access to increase preventative wellness for all. He has honed his expertise at the intersection of mental health and higher education over the last decade, and continues to teach at the University of Southern California and serve on the Forbes Health Advisory Board.

Health Literacy, Health Coaching, and Provider Training Lead

Kristen Buglione plays a key role in leading strategic initiatives to enhance college student health, well-being, and academic success. Before joining TimelyMD, she was the Director of Health Education at Johnson & Wales University and presented at regional/national college health conferences. Buglione is passionate about helping individuals and communities enhance health and well-being through sustainable and equitable initiatives. Buglione is also a Certified Health Education Specialist.
