Recognition highlights TimelyCare’s clinically accountable, outcomes-driven model built specifically for education

Medtech Breakthrough Award 2026FORT WORTH, Texas —  MedTech Breakthrough is honoring TimelyCare, education’s most trusted virtual care provider, as the winner of the “Best Overall TeleHealth Solution” award in the 10th annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program.

The recognition highlights TimelyCare’s role in the fast-growing category at the intersection of education and healthcare, recognizing the company’s measurement-based approach to virtual care and commitment to clinical accountability.

TimelyCare uses validated tools such as PHQ-9 and GAD-7 to support a measurement-based approach to care. After three or more scheduled counseling visits, 76% of students achieve reliable improvement or remission of depression or anxiety symptoms.

“Students need more than access to care,” said Luke Hejl, co-founder and CEO of TimelyCare. “They require a clinically sound and user-friendly care model that delivers tangible results. We are proud to be recognized by MedTech Breakthrough, as it reflects our commitment to improving the health and well-being of students.”

TimelyCare partners with institutions as a true extension of campus wellness efforts, helping schools expand care without losing continuity, accountability, or the human heart of counseling. The model is designed to remove friction and help students quickly reach the right level of support, wherever and whenever they need it.

Through a seamless virtual care platform, TimelyCare provides comprehensive student mental health and medical care, including mental health counseling, on-demand emotional support, a crisis line, medical care, psychiatric care, health coaching, success coaching, peer support, basic needs assistance, and self-guided wellness tools.

Now in its 10th year, the MedTech Breakthrough Awards program honors innovation across categories including telehealth, virtual care, patient engagement, health information systems, medical devices, and more. The program recognizes organizations advancing the future of healthcare through technology, performance, and real-world impact.

“TimelyCare delivers measurable outcomes and access at the scale, speed, and quality standards that higher ed can trust,” said Steve Johansson, managing director, MedTech Breakthrough. “TimelyCare’s network of student-focused, culturally competent providers is helping to improve campus health across the country through evidence-based virtual care that is effective, timely, and relevant to the campus community. We extend our sincere congratulations to the TimelyCare team for a well-deserved 2026 MedTech Breakthrough Award win.”

This year’s program drew a record-breaking number of nominations from leading companies and startups across more than 20 countries, reflecting the growing global impact and momentum of the digital healthcare industry.
